Terms of Service

Welcome to Zeseva. By creating an account or using the Zeseva platform ("Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Zeseva is operated by Shobha Ventures, a company registered in India ("Zeseva", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms govern your use of our website at zeseva.com and any related mobile applications.
1. What Zeseva Is
Zeseva is a technology platform that allows verified residents of a residential building or society to list, borrow, and lend personal items to one another ("Sharing Transactions"). Zeseva is a marketplace platform only. We are not a party to any Sharing Transaction between residents.
All agreements for borrowing, lending, and any associated payments are made directly between the Lender (the person listing an item) and the Borrower (the person requesting the item). Zeseva facilitates the connection and provides tools — we do not own, inspect, insure, or guarantee any item listed on the Platform.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use Zeseva.
- You must be a verified resident of a registered building on the Platform.
- You must provide accurate information including your real name, flat number, and email address.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and magic link emails. Do not forward magic link emails to others. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately at support@zeseva.com.
- One account per person. You may not create multiple accounts.
- Zeseva reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Listings and Items
When you list an item on Zeseva, you confirm that:
- You own the item or have the right to lend it.
- The item is accurately described, including its condition.
- The item is safe to use and in working condition.
- The item does not fall under our prohibited items list (see zeseva.com/guidelines).
Prohibited items include but are not limited to: food and perishables, alcohol and tobacco, fireworks and explosives, prescription medicines, LPG equipment, high-value jewellery, cash, vehicles, and any item illegal under Indian law. Full list at zeseva.com/guidelines.
Zeseva reserves the right to remove any listing at any time without notice.
4. Borrowing and Lending
By entering into a Sharing Transaction, you agree that:
Borrowers are responsible for the safe return of items in the same condition they were received. Borrowers are liable for the cost of repair or replacement of any item damaged or lost during their custody.
Lenders confirm that items are safe, clean, and accurately described.
Both parties agree to confirm handoff and return through the Platform using photo proof. Failure to confirm may affect dispute resolution.
Items must be returned by the agreed return date. Overdue returns will result in notifications and may affect the Borrower's reputation on the Platform.
5. Payments and Deposits
- Payment timing: Payment is only charged after the Lender confirms the borrowing request. No amount is debited at the time of request.
- Payments are processed through Razorpay. By making a payment, you agree to Razorpay's terms and conditions.
- A security deposit may be collected on applicable transactions and held securely by Zeseva until the item is safely returned. The deposit will be released to the Borrower within 24 hours of confirmed return, subject to dispute resolution.
- Zeseva charges a flat platform fee of ₹3 per completed transaction, applicable to all transactions including free listings. This fee may be waived during promotional periods at Zeseva's discretion and is otherwise non-refundable.
- A verification fee of 5% of the rental value may apply to micro-rentals or high-value items as determined by Zeseva. This will be disclosed at the time of the transaction.
- In the event of confirmed item damage, Zeseva may transfer part or all of the security deposit to the Lender following dispute resolution.
- Zeseva is not responsible for payment failures, delays, or errors caused by third-party payment processors.
6. Disputes
If a dispute arises regarding item condition or a transaction, either party may raise a dispute within 48 hours of confirmed return through the Platform. Disputes raised after this window will not be eligible for deposit intervention.
The Building Admin will review photo evidence submitted by both parties and make a decision. For disputes under ₹5,000, the Building Admin's decision is final. For disputes above ₹5,000 or where bias is alleged, a Platform Moderator may review on request.
If the Building Admin is one of the parties involved in a dispute, the case will be escalated directly to a Platform Moderator, bypassing Building Admin review entirely.
Zeseva's dispute process is a facilitation service. It does not constitute legal arbitration or a court proceeding. Parties retain their legal rights under Indian law.
7. Platform Liability
Zeseva is a platform that connects residents. We are not liable for:
- The quality, safety, or condition of any item listed or borrowed.
- Personal injury caused by borrowed items.
- Loss or damage to items beyond the security deposit held.
- Actions or omissions of any user of the Platform.
- Disputes between residents not resolved through our Platform process.
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Zeseva's total liability to any user shall not exceed the amount of the security deposit held by Zeseva in relation to the disputed transaction, or ₹500, whichever is greater.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- List prohibited or dangerous items.
- Provide false information about yourself or items you list.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform's safety features.
- Share your invite link with non-residents of your building.
- Create multiple accounts or impersonate other residents.
Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or permanent removal from the Platform.
9. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. We collect and use your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the Platform or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
